I still have my hang-over from the recent visit in Batanes. One of the best memories that I had was meeting 85 year old Lola Ida over the town of Ivana. I’ve heard from a lot of bloggers that Lola Ida originally came from Silay, Negros Occidental and migrated Batanes in 1935. The House of Dakay has been a popular stop and one of the most preserved houses in Batan where Lola Ida had lived since her family migrated. “Dakay” is Lola Ida’s father. Lola Ida was sickly at the moment that I visited her. She was the most photographed person in Batanes

I had a fond memory visiting Batanes and a pleasure to meet Lola Ida who’s considered as an icon among photographers and tourists.
